Last year, July 2011, Derek Hynd and Taylor Miller traveled around Italy to share the
free friction finless spirit with local surfers across the Italian coastline.
They visited many places and one of them was SurfLab on the east cost where Derek,
having just arrived from South Africa, recycled one of Roberto’s first fish shapes to create a new finless fish ….
The third board from the left of the image is this very board from Surflab. They named it ‘The Italian’.
Derek and Taylor surfed it extensively around both Italy and Australia…
It was a great pleasure to meet Derek and Taylor, a very special couple ….
